Migrating to Cegid Retail File Exchange with MWC Partners’ Synchronisation App

11 Sep 2024

With the imminent retirement of Cegid’s CGFT (Cegid File Transfer) service at the end of this year, Cegid users now need to start preparing to migrate those integrations currently using CGFT.

Cegid Retail File Exchange, or RFE, uses Microsoft Azure’s Blob Storage which offers users key benefits over the legacy CGFT service. RFE provides Cegid users with greater security, resilience and file transfer speed as well as 7-day file archiving.

To simplify the migration to RFE for Cegid users, MWC have developed an application which automates the synchronisation of Azure Blob Storage with a local directory on a Windows machine, allowing Cegid users to seamlessly maintain their existing file management workflows using RFE’s APIs. This approach not only simplifies the transition to RFE storage but minimises the need for extensive system modifications and changes to established workflows.

Set-up is managed with an easy-to-use configurator designed to be managed by users of all technical abilities. The user specifies the source directory and the target Azure Blob directory within the configurator and can set up and test a new transfer process within just a few minutes. Configurable options to manage sync intervals, logging preferences and exclusions are also available.
